Thailand cracks the one-million barrier
The country's automotive industry reached a milestone on November 23 when the one-millionth vehicle rolled off the production line. Of significance is that Thailand became only the 15th country in the world to achieve one-million units annual assembly, which by year's end is expected to reach 1.15 million units and overtake Italy now in the 14th spot.The 1.15 million units is made of about 700,000 units sold in the domestic market and 450,000 units exported overseas. Export rankings see Thailand elevated to seventh position amongst global automotive powerhouses.
