AMC - AMERICAN MOTORS

History
This section tells you why AMC was founded, what happened in its 33 year history, and why it ceased to exist in 1987 and lined up in a row of great names like Auburn, Studebaker, Borgward, Panhard or NSU.
Pacer
In a book about automobiles of the seventies the Pacer should have its own chapter along with the Citroën SM (look at the links page!). These two were the uniquest cars of that time, they featured very advanced concepts, both sold well at the beginning, but soon became commercial failures. And both caused the companies that built them to lose their independence. Citroën fell into the hands of Peugeot, AMC into those of Renault.
The Pacer section tells you about the history, the concept and everything else that's interesting to know about the wheeled bubble.
Buy a Pacer
Here you can find the Online Pacer Buyer's Guide. You don't need JavaScript enabled for it, but I recommend it. No banners, I promise.
Karmann
What does the German automobile manufacturer Karmann have to do with American Motors? Click the button, and you'll know.
Zuckerl
Zuckerl? What in the world is a Zuckerl? Well, Zuckerl is a Bavarian word for a sweetie, or for something special you get. This section features vintage AMC ads, pictures and other things you won't easily find in other places. Donations are always welcome!
